Modular Wooden Whipper Trebuchet
Thing to throw a tennis ball really far.
Before I learned to code, I was really into woodworking. And so was my buddy Eric.
For a catapult competition in 9th grade physics, we were constrained to building something that fit inside a school locker. Other people built catapults with hot glue and popsicle sticks.
Eric and I won the competition by building a modular whipper trebuchet with 2x4’s that was assembled with wooden dowels like IKEA furniture. Disassembled, all parts fit inside the locker.
We were heavily inspired by Tom Stanton. Oooohhh…also shoutout Mr. Godfrey, hope retirement is treating you well.
